- 000001117
At Ivey Publishing, we prioritize supporting our authors and publishing partners through a transparent royalty process. Below is an overview of our royalty structure and payment guidelines, highlighting differing information based on specific agreements or product types.
Eligibility for Royalties
Authors and publishing partners who submit products to Ivey Publishing are eligible to receive royalties on qualifying sales.
- Contributor Designation: On any given product, there may be multiple contributors. At the time of submission, the submitter designates which contributors are eligible to receive royalties (authors). Contributors not designated for royalty participation will not receive payments, regardless of their involvement in the product’s development. (writers)
Applicable Sales
Royalties apply to qualifying sales of learning materials, including:
- Cases
- Notes
- Exercises
- Digital Learning Experiences (DLEs)
Please note: Inspection copies are not eligible for royalty payments.
Royalty Rates
- Authors: Generally, a 15% royalty is awarded for qualifying sales of products, with the royalty split equally among all eligible authors. Differing rates for specific products or product types may apply as specified in separate agreements.
- Publishing Partners: Royalty rates for publishing partners vary based on specific agreements or product types.
Payment Process
- Frequency: Individual royalties are paid annually, following the end of the Ivey Publishing fiscal year.
- Statement: Payments are accompanied by a detailed statement outlining sales and applicable royalties.
- Minimum Payment Threshold: To streamline processing, individual author royalty payments are issued only when they reach a cumulative total of $50 or more in the annual payout. Balances below this threshold will roll over to the following year until the minimum is met.
